Best of 2009 - Lance Wins in Nevada City

Imagine Elvis showing up to sing a few songs in your local bar. That's what it was like when Lance Armstrong raced in Nevada City, Caliornia.

When Armstrong announced that he...and teammates Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner...would be racing in the Nevada City Classic in June, the place just went nuts. 20,000 fans jammed the streets of this NorCal town. Little did we all know that this would be Lance's one-and-only road bike win of 2009.

It's also one of most memorable moments of of the year. Take a look back at that remarkable day, here.

Best of 2009 - The Rabbits of Roubaix

We all know that European cycling fans can be a rabid bunch. But little did we know that they could be rabid rabbits, too. Yet there they were, sitting in a farm field in France, not far from the cobblestoned course of the Paris-Roubaix race.

Best of 2009 - Jens Voigt's Courageous Comeback

Our look back at the best moments in cycling from the year gone by continues today with a story of another great comeback.

Saxo Bank strongman Jens Voigt crashed hard in the 2009 Tour de France. It looked bad...real bad. There was talk that Voigt might never race his bike again.

But less than two months after his frightening fall Jens was back, racing in the USA at the Tour of Missouri.

He was always a fan favorite, but after his crash and comeback, Jens was an even better guy than before. And he gave us one of our best moments of 2009, here.

Best of 2009 - Lance Gives a Tongue Lashing

It started out as your basic press conference...but it quickly turned into a confrontation heard 'round the world.

Lance Armstrong faced the assembled media in Sacramento before the start of the 2009 Tour of California, answering questions about his comeback and the strength of the field in the race.

But a harsh comment from one Euro journo sent Armstrong into a tirade. It's one of our most memorable moments of the year. You can see and hear it all for yourself, here.
